SIDBI Micro Enterprise Loans System

When the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) planned a Strategic Business Unit (SBU) to address the huge, unmet demand for finance among micro and small entrepreneurs whose credit needs are satisfied neither by Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) nor by traditional financial institutions (BFSIs), they floated a tender for a business partner to set up and operate the SBU. PlaNet Finance, an international NPO, with technology partners VolkSoft Technologies won the tender.

Retail Insurance for SKS Microfinance

VolkSoft Technologies has successfully completed the development of Retail Insurance module for SKS Microfinance, India's largest micro finance institution. The system will be in use at 1,400 branches across the country, mainly in rural areas.

Time was a major constraint since the business operations had already commenced and the volume of data was growing to unmanageable proportions.

VolkSoft provided a rapid turnaround, analyzing the domain requirements and developing the system in a record time. The system has currently passed acceptance testing and is being rolled out in a phased manner across the country.

Sangam Stores - High Volume Mobile Store

SKS Microfinance teamed up with Metro Cash and Carry in Andhra Pradesh to introduce the Sangam Store initiative - providing small shop owners in far-flung towns and villages with the means to place orders via low-end mobile phones for next day delivery at their doorstep.

VolkSoft Technologies implemented the mobile order management system and the backend software infrastructure in record time to meet the faster than anticipated growth of the customer base. The system started operations with literally thousands of customers going online almost overnight.

The project was an unqualified success and paved the way for closer cooperation on more projects between SKS Microfinance and VolkSoft Technologies.
